Ref proposed closeure of Princes Risborough sorting office.Any pressure you can bring to bear would be appricated by the residence of the whole village. At a time when a lot of effert is being put in to regenerate the village with new shops opening, proposed traffic flow improvements, possible free parking etc then along comes the post office trying to stop a wonderfull service. They have some excellent staff in the sorting office,i would have thought any commercial opperation would be sorry to loose them.I understand we have to make cut backs but we should cosider the wider effects these can have. Good Luck.

John,

The Robert Mews Workshops are in Wendover. To get to the entrance you will need to go through the archway between Sally Turner antiques and Lloyds bank.

Regards,

Lee Crouch

A useful paper from the Royal Society and a very constructive speech from yourself, David.

I'm very pleased to hear that there is cross-party agreement on combatting the proliferation of nuclear weapons, and I am pleased, too, that the Conservatives are willing to work towards the goal of a world without nuclear weapons.

Should the Conservatives form the next government, I hope that the new Foreign Secretary will immediately attend the Non-Proliferation Treaty review conference in New York to show the UK's concrete support for multilateral disarmament, and indicate that the UK would support a nuclear weapons convention which would eventually ban nuclear weapons.

Liam Fox has already promised a defence review, and this should be used to review the case for replacing Trident and examine the role and need for UK nuclear weapons looking into the future.

,,,,,,,,been watching your blogs and appreciate the dynamism with which you have approached this very unfortunate plan on us victims. Most of us don't really believe this will ever happen, due to lack of funds, and even so if it does, we will all be dead or move away.
Your written questions look specific and relevant. Where can we see a map of how this proposal specificaally affects us - your previous link did not work for me

You do have a vote as long as there is a contested election. It is the choice of the main parties, for the reasons that I explained, not to run candidates against the Speaker. It would be possible to switch to a different arrangement but, as I described, there are distinct drawbacks to the alternatives.

As for the boundary changes, the Boundary Commission is a completely independent body. When it has prepared provisional proposals for a county or borough, it notifies the political parties and the local authorities and publishes a public notice in the local press. While I can see the case for requiring the Commission to write to every elector, that would add a lot to the cost of the review to taxpayers.

In our own local case, my party not only wrote to our own members but put an item about the changes in our ward newsletters that are delivered door to door. Both the Bucks Herald and the Bucks Free Press carried stories about the proposals, though they were not front-page headlines.
